Hopefully, it will complement the blog by being “open all hours”.

Help needed…

_45349100_006677635-1 The conflict in Gaza is going to be our main story for the forseeable future.

That means trying to fairly and impartially hear the views of both sides even they both have their own distinct narratives and (in the main) absolute conviction that they are right and that’s the only truth there is.

On Air : Young hearts…

_45348891_gazakids_ap226The tv news channels and the papers have featured images of frightened and injured children on both sides of the conflict in Gaza.

During the war in Lebanon, we spoke to children on both sides- as well as children around the world saying what they felt about the images they were seeing.

Al Qaeda ; time to talk ?

Ok, bear with me on this.bin-laden

Remember when we put your questions to the Taliban ? . We ran it by you, overall you thought we should talk with them and we did.

Afterwards , some of you criticised the questions, some felt we were too soft (and other criticisms) , but a good few of you felt the experience had been worthwhile and had taught us something.

On- air: Does there come a point when Israel loses its right to defend itself ?

_45345080_gaza0401gallerygettyb

Israel says it carried out 30 air strikes overnight - and 4 thousand infantry are on the ground.

Palestinian medical sources say more than 500 people have been killed since the military action began, and civilians are running out of bread because of gas and electricity shortages.

We can’t verify any of this as Israel has barred foreign reporters from entering Gaza- and restricting their activities on the border. A policy, according to Robert Fisk in the Independent, simply won’t work..

On air: Cuba : a “permanent struggle” ?

cubanaWe’re live from Havana with the BBC’s Michael Voss, and Ros is at the Cubana Bar in central London. See pics of Ros, the team and our guests here.

Cuban leader Raul Castro celebrated 50 years since the revolution by telling people that :

“The enemy will never cease to be aggressive, treacherous and dominant. It is time to reflect on the future, on the next 50 years when we shall continue to struggle incessantly.I’m not trying to scare anyone, this is the truth”

John, Susan, Samantha and Joe Lowry

On 26 October 2007, the World Have Your Say blog hosted a post from an anonymous user on a thread entitled ‘Congo and Kids’.

The post contained a number of wholly false allegations about members of the Lowry family of Swindon who run the Hillsborough Day Nursery.

The BBC is happy to make clear that there is no foundation in any of these allegations and wishes to apologise to the Lowry family for the distress caused.

No comments will be published on this post.

On air: Is Israel strengthening Hamas?

Madeleine is tonight at an Arab Israeli Café in Jerusalem and we’ll be bringing you World Have Your Say from there. Yesterday we were at Itay’s house, he’s an Israeli medical student who, with a couple of his friends started a dialogue with a group of Gazans about the current situation.

Also, while we’re on air the Israeli Consulate is holding an online press conference on twitter right here.
